Portable stands with pole cups

A practical guide to choosing, using and storing this type of hobby horse obstacle. Individual products differ; this is not a competition standard.

Parts of the set

Bases, uprights, adjustable pole cups and a pole are usually transported separately. Tool-free does not mean check-free: every intended locking part must be in place after assembly.

Transport and compact storage

Consider this format if the jump must be packed away after practice or transported. Compare the longest part, total weight and assembly time. Actual packed dimensions matter more than an attractive photo of the loose components.

Pole cups and adjustment

Check pole diameter against the cups and the available height settings. Both sides should use the same setting. Do not replace missing cups with arbitrary metal hooks: support shape affects how the pole behaves when touched.

Keeping the parts together

Store cups and locking pieces in one labelled bag. Check loose connections, end caps and edges during assembly. If a part is missing, obtain a compatible replacement rather than use an incomplete set.
